It is widely known, but not applied, the fact that trees have innumerable benefits for our health and as an essential complement to architectural work. But what if the tree, instead of being a complement, meant the starting point for our design? The tree must represent in the future, a generational element that reaches its different stages of maturity at the same time that our children grow or our parents age.

The advantages of using each material are obvious; reusing, reinventing and giving a second life are practices that can significantly shorten the precarious state that many families face. The materials that we can find in the most precarious stages of homes can evolve with them. Flexibility is essential, the exterior space cannot be physically separated from the interior. The living machine needs to mutate, evolve, adapt.

The project arises from the need for a headquarters in the municipality of Trinidad to manage the new hydraulic project to be carried out in the city. The building is part of the Aqueduct and Sewer Company. This brings together two main spaces; the control center and the meeting and protocol room. Adjacent to these, a whole series of auxiliary premises were projected.

Project of preliminary ideas with the aim of studying and evaluate variants for the intervention of an icon of the city of Sancti Spiritus. The Church of Jesus Nazarene constitutes an architectural landmark in the past and present of the city. Years of deterioration and incompatibility of uses have caused its current image, so it is essential the immediate execution of tasks for its consolidation and bailing out.

As part of a collaboration with renowned Cuban artist Wilfredo Prieto, Bohio Arquitectura developed a project for the central office of the “Viaje Infinito” complex located in Zaza del Medio, Cuba. The challenge was to reuse the prefabricated materials available on site, the quantity of these elements was limited and they came from different systems. The building is currently under construction.
